Continuing Professional Development (Tasmania)

If you are an electrical worker in Tasmania, you are required to maintain and develop your skills and knowledge through ongoing learning activities, referred to as Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

The CPD has to be proven when you apply to renew your licence. This is to demonstrate that you have enough CPD related to your vocation.

As an electrical practitioner, you require an average of 12 points per year, which equates to a minimum of 36 points for your 3 year licence.

Training and points value

If you are participating in Nationally Recognised Training delivered by an RTO, then you will attain 1 point per hour with a maximum of 6 points in a day.

Nationally Accredited Training delivered by an RTO 1 point per nominal hour, as stated in the course or unit of competency or by the RTO (maximum 6 points per day)
